The event at FIDM features re-interpretations of The Wizard of Oz's iconic ruby slippers from many fashion designers and artists, as well as Oz-inspired designs by FIDM students and alumni in categories, such as footwear, fashion and jewelry. Tarina Tarantino is also launching her Oz-based jewelry line, called My Pretty. The exhibition also features a sneak peak of Warner Home Video's upcoming The Wizard of Oz 70th Anniversary Ultimate Collector's Edition. Two editions will be released later this year, restored in high definition on Blue-ray and DVD. Each are packed with collectibles and new bonus content. Warner Bros. Consumer Products is also launching a Wizard of Oz Hot Air Balloon Tour throughout major cities in the U.S. to commemorate the 70th anniversary. Other Oz merchandise and collectibles, including dolls, games, apparel, accessories, novelties and more are now available at specialty retailers. |
