Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products has tapped Margaret Weis Productions to create a series of role-playing games based on the TV series, “Firefly.”
MWP is planning a series of pick-up-and-play tabletop games and supplements based on much-loved characters, stories and locations of the show. The first games in the range will be available this spring.
“This partnership is another way that we can give back to the ‘Firefly’ fans,” says Jeffrey Godsick, president, Fox Consumer Products. “‘Firefly’ followers have shown continuous loyalty to the franchise and we want to give them quality products in return.”
The space western drama, created by Joss Whedon, was cancelled during its first season in 2002, but has continued to garner widespread fan support, leading Fox to launch a series of brand extensions including the film Serenity and a series of comic books.
