Adidas to Buy Reebok
Sporting goods company Adidas-Salomon AG agreed to buy Reebok International Ltd. for approximately $3.8 billion. The combined company would have about $11.7 billion in sneaker and sports equipment sales, compared with Nike's $13.7 billion. Adidas Chief Executive Herbert Hainer says he intends to have the two businesses run separately. Reebok CEO Paul Fireman will continue to manage the Reebok brand.
