Warner Bros. Consumer Products U.K., on behalf of DC Entertainment, is declaring Mother’s Day Wonder Woman’s official holiday, as it names the character as brand ambassador for the seasonal event.
More than 20 partners are on board in the U.K. to support gifting holiday with a broad range of products featuring Wonder Woman.
“Wonder Woman is an icon who encapsulates strength, courage and beauty–positive qualities that are synonymous with mothers the world over,” says Paul Bufton, general manager, Warner Bros. Consumer Products U.K. “As consumers head to the high street in search of that perfect gift, they will be spoilt for choice with our range of licensed products that celebrate the Wonder Woman in our lives, the everyday heroes that we call Mum.”
Primark and Asda are leading the way with fashion-forward collections of direct-to-retail Wonder Woman apparel, while licensees Global Licensing, Knitmania, Smith and Brooks, Groovy UK and Roy Lowe and Sons will launch t-shirts, hoodies, onesies, nightwear and socks. Mattel and Forbidden Planet will make toys and collectibles; and Half Moon Bay has released a retro gift range that includes artwork, bags, tin totes, mugs, aprons, coasters and key rings. Other lincesees include Hallmark and Moonpig for greeting cards and Danilo, GB Eye and Pyramid Posters for calendars and posters.
