Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment have launched the new console fighting game, “Injustice: Gods Among Us,” in North America.
Developed by NetherRealm Studios, the video game includes a new story featuring some the most popular DC Comics heroes and villains, such as Batman, Superman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, Aquaman and The Joker. Additionally, battles take place in locales pulled from DC Comics lore including Arkham Asylum, Metropolis and Atlantis.
The console game accompanies a free-to-play mobile game of the same name that was released for iOS devices earlier this month. The app features connectivity to the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game as well as a collectible card mechanic.
“NetherRealm Studios was dedicated to making ‘Injustice: Gods Among Us’ an immersive, action-packed experience,” says Ed Boon, creative director, NetherRealm Studios. “We’ve created an original game with an all-new story filled with iconic characters DC Comics and gaming fans will appreciate.”
Warner Bros. is also offering a series of deluxe add-ons including an Injustice: Gods Among Us fight stick that features official artwork from the game and three skins based on Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman, as well as a collector’s edition of the game that includes an exclusive statue, a collector’s edition comic, a film download and device skins.
“Injustice: Gods Among Us” is now available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation3 and Wii U systems.
