VIMN Signs Raft of Broadcast Deals

Viacom International Media Networks has announced a host of deals with third-party broadcasters across Southern Europe and Africa.

In Spain, free-to-air broadcaster TVE has signed for season 1 of “Monsters versus Alien,” season 2 of “Kung Fu Panda,” season 1 and 2 of “Bubble Guppies” and season 3 of “Penguins of Madagascar.” Its also signed on for season 2 of live-action series “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” season 3 of “Big Time Rush” and season 1 of “Super Ninjas.”

Also in Spain, MediaSet, has signed for three of VIMN’s male-skewed series, including season 1 of MTV’s comedy “Megadrive,” season 1 of the unscripted series “Big Easy Justice” and “Urban Tarzan” from VIMN’s Spike portfolio.

In Italy, kids’ broadcaster Boing has signed for seasons 2 and 3 of “Penguins of Madagascar.”  Meanwhile, Discovery, has bagged season 1 of “Big Time Rush.”

Broadcasters in France have followed suit also wanting to expand their live action portfolios, with commercial broadcaster GULLI (Lagardere Group) acquiring seasons 1 and 2 of Nickelodeon’s “Victorious,” and media group Canal + (D17)  signing for seasons 1 and 2 of MTV hit “Awkward.”

Finally in South Africa, BET continues to enjoy success with free-to-air channel e.tv signing for season 1 of the comedy series “Real Husbands of Hollywood” and “Second Generation Wayans,” alongside season 2 of “Let’s Stay Together” and season 1 of “Hell Date.”

Also in the Africa region, Atlantic Pictures have signed for a number of the BET shows via VIMN’s distribution partner in South Africa, Cote Ouest, including seasons 1 and 2 of “Real Husbands of Hollywood,” “Reed Between the Lines” and seasons 1 to 3 of Comedy Central’s “Key & Peele.” The broadcaster has completed the deal with Nickelodeon animations “Catscratch” and season 2 of “Kung Fu Panda.”
