British art museum adds apparel, gardening and more.
The Victoria and Albert Museum has partnered with ten licensees for a raft of new products across multiple categories.
V&A’s new line up includes:
- Oasis for a line of dresses. The new line will include 10 dresses featuring patterns from V&A’s collection of Asian ceramics, wallpaper and fabrics. The collection is in stores now.
- Little House of Hackney for interior and fashion products for children. The line will include hand-smocked dresses, bonnets, wallpaper, bed linens, furnishing fabric and ceramics that feature the work of architect and textile designer C.F.A. Voysey, including the botanical print, Voysey’s Garden, and his take on the characters from Alice in Wonderland. The V&A and House of Hackney collection will launch this month.
- Pimpernel Press for the paperback book English Chintz Fabrics. The new book will include 12 sheets of gift wrap that feature 19th century designs from the V&A archives.
- Caspari for a range of paper tableware products. The new range is inspired by V&A’s collection of Alice in Wonderland artwork and will launch in time for Christmas.
- Woorim, V&A’s first South Korean licensee, will create a line of fine jewelry inspired the museums national collection of lace. The new jewelry range will include rings, necklaces and earrings.
- Clarks for a range of women and men’s shoes inspired by the 1960’s, including a reinterpretation of a wallpaper pattern that reflects the spirit of the decade.
- Wild & Wolf for a gardening range including tools, enamel mugs and tape measures in green, blue and pink options. The range will also feature patterns from William Morris and William Kilburn. The V&A garden collection will be available at John Lewis retail locations.
- Ehram Kits for a line of needlepoint kits. The new kits are based on Japanese textiles, such as kimonos, and textiles by William Morris, John Henry Dearle and William De Morgan.
- Shearer Candles for a range of scented candles and diffusers. The new range will be presented in packaging decorated with three V&A patterns from William Morris and C.F.A. Voysey.
- Caffè Nero for a line of gift cards. The new range will feature multiple designs from V&A’s archives and can be used in more than 550 Caffè Nero outlets across the U.K.
