Kelvyn Gardner, managing director of the Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association in the U.K., is heading to Finland to speak at the country’s first-ever professional licensing event.
The event, Lisenssi=Bisnes, will take place on March 14 and is organized by the Association of Agents and Managers in Creative Industries.
Gardner will join other senior executives in the licensing industry in giving attendees insight into the international licensing market.
“Finland already has a number of licensing success stories with brand owners such as Rovio (owners of Angry Birds), Fiskars Home and Rabbit Films (producers of The Dudesons TV show) enjoying international success through their licensing programs. The Finnish government is also trying to encourage licensing and IP business through measures such as tax concessions,” says Gardner. “Despite this, licensing as a distinctive and beneficial business tool is still relatively unknown within Finland, so this event will be an excellent opportunity for business leaders and the licensing community to hear success stories and learn about strategies to build a brand both within the Nordic region and beyond.”
