Turner Broadcasting has appointed former Mattel executive Johanne Broadfield to the role of vice president, Cartoon Network Enterprises, EMEA.
In her new role, Broadfield will lead Turner’s consumer products team and business, spearheading the development of Turner’s channel and show brands into consumer product franchises within and across the region.
She will lead a business unit responsible for product licensing, promotions, publishing, home entertainment, events and environments and will direct brand, licensing, retail and associated marketing strategies for Cartoon Network Enterprises, working in conjunction with the global Turner CNE team to develop and execute franchise strategies and plans.
Broadfield joins Turner Broadcasting from Mattel, where she was senior director across the U.K., Canada and Eastern Europe consumer products business. She has also held leadership roles at Disney, Fisher-Price, as well as Burda Medien and Alpina International in Germany.
“[Johanne] has fantastic experience and is well placed to lead CNE toward future growth,” says Pete Flamman, senior vice president and chief operating officer, Turner EMEA. “This is an extremely important part of our business, not only in terms of revenue growth but also in terms of delivering against our commitment to be where our audiences are.”
