Mega Brands is showcasing two new construction lines at Toy Fair this year featuring Mattel’s Hot Wheels and Microsoft Studios’ Halo.
Following the successful launch of the Mega Bloks Barbie line during the 2012 holiday season, Mattel and Mega are teaming up again for the brand new Mega Bloks Hot Wheels line, set to hit shelves this summer.
The new range of construction toys will feature the speed and action of the Hot Wheels brand in new customizable car and play sets. Each set will also include Team Hot Wheels collectible micro-action figures.
"2012 was an exciting year for Mega Bloks as we materialized our partnership with Mattel and launched the Mega Bloks Barbie line," says Vic Bertrand, chief innovation officer, Mega Brands. "As we continue to join our expertise, we are now proud to introduce the brand new Mega Bloks Hot Wheels collection for fall 2013, where Mega Bloks brings the world's most famous car brand to building toys."
Mega Brands is also showcasing the new Mega Bloks Halo Authentic Collectors series, which adds all new characters, weapons and vehicles to the Mega Bloks Halo line. Featuring new build-and-combine possibilities and more micro-action figures, this new series provides expanded collectability for fans.
"As we celebrate the fifth anniversary of Mega Bloks Halo in the construction aisle, Mega Bloks is introducing even more play to the collection," says Bertrand. "We are adding play-activated lights and in-game sounds to several of the line's key vehicles for an enhanced play experience."
Mega Bloks is also planning to expand and refresh its Thomas & Friends preschool construction line for the fall with more buildable sets and new product inspired by the upcoming direct-to-DVD movie, King of the Railway.
