Global design community Threadless has unveiled the winners of its Captain America Design Challenge, held in partnership with Marvel.
Artists worldwide were invited to submit designs featuring Captain America characters and storylines, which were then voted upon and scored by the Threadless community in order to decide which designs would comprise the new collection of original Marvel t-shirts.
The three winning Captain America t-shirts are part of a larger collection that features 78 designs chosen from 2,252 submissions that include Spider-Man, Iron Man and other heroes from the Marvel universe.
The shirts are available on the Threadless e-commerce site now in advance of the April 4 premiere of Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
"We are always happy to see a design challenge resonating well with our community," says Jake Nickell, chief executive officer, Threadless. "Our partnership with Marvel has continuously provided the talented artists of the Threadless community with the opportunity to design for characters that get them excited and motivated to participate. The Captain America design challenge was no different."
