The “Tamagotchi L.i.f.e. App” is helping to breath new life into the ’90s brand, with more than 2.5 million downloads just 90 days after its initial release.
Prompted by the app’s success, Bandai is now planning a re-creation of the Tamagotchi Generation 2 toy this summer as an update to the app for both Android and iOS users in the U.S. and Canada.
In early 2014, the company also plans to release a new Tamagotchi L.i.f.e. app that recreates one of the brand's most popular versions, the Tamagotchi Angel.
