The new division will represent all of Redan’s IP rights, in-house characters and third-party brands for licensing.
"Our business relies on being able to spot the hottest properties on the market and present them effectively in our magazines, so we have a strong sense of what is going to work in the children's industry and what isn't,” says Robert Sutherland, managing director, Redan Publishing. “We felt that it was about time we put this knowledge to good use with our own brands and characters, and I'm delighted that Michael has come on board to build and develop Redan Alchemy to support our brands and those of relevant third parties in the future."
Redan's portfolio includes preschool titles such as Sparkle World, Fun to Learn and characters including Goblin Princess, Sparkle Fairy and Mik, Mak and Zak.
Gottlieb will join the company as chief executive officer of Redan Alchemy. He brings 25 years of industry experience, including time spent at Warner Bros. Consumer Products and various television production companies.

Gottlieb will present the company’s brands at Brand Licensing Europe, taking place Oct. 16-18 in London.
