Popular film franchise teams with global sports brand for apparel and footwear.
Illumination and Universal Brand Development have partnered with Puma to showcase the minions from the Despicable Me franchise on a series of footwear and apparel.
The new lines will showcase Stuart, Carl and Kevin on Puma’s classic styles, such as the Puma Suede, for both adults and children. The new collection will also feature custom Minions-painted graphic insoles finished with a co-branded logo. It will also highlight the minions on a series of apparel and accessory items.
“For the past seven years, minions have engaged people of all ages and cultures with their unexpected, often subversive behavior,” says Gail Harrison, president, marketing and branding, Illumination Entertainment. “For the first time, Illumination has identified three minions with passion for design to interrupt Puma’s highly successful creative process. This all-new collection combines our favorite classic Puma styles with an unorthodox measure of bananas, mishaps and more. In true minion form, they fail upwards again.”
The Puma x minions adults range will launch at Puma stores, select lifestyle retailers and online at Puma.com this June. Meanwhile, the kids’ collection will be available on Puma.com, Puma stores and kids’ retailers.
