Plus Licens Scores 'Inazuma Eleven'

Plus Licens has signed on to represent the anime television series “Inazuma Eleven” in the Nordic countries, Russia/CIS and Central and Eastern Europe.

Plus Licens will represent the soccer series for merchandising, publishing, free TV, DVD and VOD rights.

The current international licensing and publishing program for “Inazuma Eleven” includes Panini for stickers/albums, Blue Ocean for collectible cards and Pocket Jeunesse and Les Livres du Dragon d’Or for publishing.

“We’re happy to add ‘Inazuma Eleven’ to our anime portfolio,” says Maria Ornryd, media director, Plus Licens. “While football/soccer has been the No. 1 sport in our territories, as well as in most other parts of the world, its power has not fully been exploited for fictional entertainment and licensing, and we are most hopeful about the potential of ‘Inazuma Eleven’ to draw new crowds of football fans.”

Targeted to boys ages 4 to 9 “Inazuma Eleven” currently airs in 43 European countries, including Cartoon Network throughout Plus Licens territories. The franchise began in 2008 as a series of video games developed by Level-5 for Nintendo DS, and in addition to television, has also entered the world of publishing with a series of children’s manga.
