Pan American World Airways has tapped Itochu Fashion System as the master licensee for the Pan Am brand in Japan.
Itochu will draw on the 85-year heritage of the former airline, which lives on as lifestyle brand, to develop a range of products and services targeted to travel enthusiasts and fans of vintage styles.
The company is considering a number of categories for extensions including travel goods, men’s, women’s and kids’ apparel, footwear, bags, headwear, intimates, nightwear, small leather goods, audio accessories, cutlery, home fragrances, toys and a range of accessories.
“We are thrilled to be working with Itochu Fashion Systems to license product and services into the Japanese market,” says Stacy Beck, vice president, brands and licensing, Pan American World Airways. “Itochu Fashion System’s vision for Pan Am makes them an ideal licensing partner. Their approach beautifully represents the Pan Am principles of style, quality and ingenuity in the marketplace.”
