Nickelodeon Drives 'Dinosaur Train' Across the Pond

Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products has been named as the representative for The Jim Henson Company's animated preschool series "Dinosaur Train" in the U.K. and Ireland. Nick will oversee the brand's merchandising business in the region.

The series is already a hit since its March 12 debut on Nick Jr., and licensees are already aboard in the U.K. market. TOMY is the global master toy licensee for the brand, and will debut new products for the brand in 2013, including a range of InterAction figures, action figures and train cars. Puffin holds a license for paperback storybooks and board and novelty books. More than 70 licensees are also on board around the world.

"'Dinosaur Train' has received an enthusiastic response from viewers in the U.K. and Ireland, and it's a natural extension to our relationship with Nick Jr. that they lead our consumer products efforts in this region," says Melissa Segal, senior vice president of global consumer products, The Jim Henson Company.
