MTV Gets New Global Head

Viacom International Media Networks has promoted Kerry Taylor to lead the MTV brand internationally and oversee non-music-related programming and content development for all MTV-branded channels and services outside the U.S.

Taylor will also continue in her current role as senior vice president and general manager of MTV for VIMN U.K.

In her new role, Taylor will handle the positioning and presentation of the MTV brand, as well as develop original programs and acquisitions. She will work closely with MTV’s international lines of business and strategic departments to ensure MTV’s brand and content resonates with target audiences around the world and delivers value to clients and partners.

“MTV remains the world’s leading youth entertainment brand with the capacity to reinvent itself for every new generation,” says Bob Bakish, president and chief executive officer, VIMN, to whom Taylor will report. “As one of the most highly respected brand and content strategists in the business, Kerry can help guide MTV to new heights internationally. She has led our MTV portfolio in the U.K. to so many noteworthy accomplishments, and I’m confident that, under her leadership, we will continue the successful evolution of the MTV brand and to deliver entertaining and compelling content to MTV viewers around the world.”
