The digital cartoon property Off the Leash has signed a trio of new deals, including a worldwide book deal with Macmillan Publishing.
The new partnerships were negotiated by Clive Juster & Associates, which was appointed to represent the brand in February.
The dog-focused Off the Leash series of comics was created by cartoonist Rupert Fawcett and launched online in March 2012, with Fawcett publishing a new cartoon each day.
Macmillan Publishing has signed a worldwide book deal with the first title set to be released this Christmas; Customworks is creating a range of coasters and fridge magnets; and Art You Grew Up With is planning a series of limited edition prints.
“Every so often a cartoon comes along that connects immediately with the public at large and Off The Leash is without doubt one of those brands,” says Jon Butler, head of non-fiction, Macmillan. “Rupert’s cartoons are consistently funny and have broad international appeal. We are certain that this new series of books will bring great enjoyment to dog lovers everywhere.”
