Lotus is getting ready for the British Grand Prix June 28-30 with a new range of toys and collectibles in the U.K.
Group Lotus, the exclusive master licensee for the Lotus Formula 1 team brand, has developed a series of new product with Hornby Hobbies and Trunki.
Trunki is planning a children's ride-on-suitcase in the black and gold Lotus classic race color scheme with a carbon-inspired saddle. The suitcase comes complete with teddy bear seatbelts and steering horns.
Scalextric, a division of Hornby Hobbies, has created new Lotus F1 Team Scalextric slot cars and Corgi die-cast models.
The 1:32 Scalextric slot cars include a Lotus Evora GT4 and a new Grid Force set that includes a circuit and two slot cars.
The Corgi 1:43 die-cast collectibles will feature the 2012 F1 cars of Lotus team drivers Kimi Räikkönen and Romain Grosjean.
“Although Lotus' core business is sports car manufacture borne of a racing pedigree, we recognize reaching our fan base is paramount,” says Aslam Farikullah, chief operating officer, Group Lotus. “Lorenza Lavezzi as head of licensing for Group Lotus continues to strengthen and grow this significant aspect of our business.”
