Friday is the last day to submit entries for Brand Licensing Europe’s annual License This! challenge, which offers new creative concepts the chance to break into the global licensing industry.
Now in its fourth year, the contest is open to any new property with roots in publishing, art and design, television or digital media that has no merchandising deals already in place or pending.
A panel of judges will select a shortlist of four properties, which will be pitched live at BLE in London on Oct. 17. The winner gets a fully furnished stand at BLE 2014 in order to bring their property back to market.

This year’s judging panel is chaired by David Riley, managing director of Egmont Publishing Group and also includes Darran Garnham, chief business development officer at Mind Candy; Aysha Kidwai, managing director of Indigo Lens; and Bettina Koeckler, senior vice president EMEA at Fox Consumer Products.
All three winners from previous years will be exhibiting at BLE this year, along with many of the finalists.
“Winning the competition opened many doors for us,” says Sarah Watts of Two Little Boys, whose How Do… brand won the competition in 2011. “I would urge anyone with a new concept to enter the contest and see what it can do for you.”

Brand Licensing Europe 2013 will take place Oct. 15-17 at London’s Olympia exhibition hall.
