K.I.D.S. Gets New President

Denise Durham Williams has joined the global children’s charity Kids In Distressed Situations as president and chief executive officer.

“Denise has a strong track record as a leader in social service to families in need,” says Kevin M. Burke, chairman, K.I.D.S., and president and chief executive officer, American Apparel & Footwear Association. “She also brings a business acumen developed in the corporate sector that will be an asset to K.I.D.S. as we grow our impact in helping children living in challenging circumstances throughout the world.”

Most recently, Williams served as executive director of One Family where she led the organization in its mission to end family homelessness in Massachusetts.   Prior to joining One Family, Williams was a managing director of the Global Consumer Group at CitiGroup.

“I am thrilled to be joining K.I.D.S. and look forward to working with its talented team to further the organization’s mission to enhance the lives of needy children in meaningful ways,” says Williams. “K.I.D.S. has a wonderful legacy that speaks to my heart and I intend to build on its successful track record in exciting new ways as families struggle with economic hardship in record numbers.”
