The World of Eric Carle has released a new app, “Eric Carle’s On the Farm,” thanks to a deal brokered by licensing agency The Joester Loria Group.
Publications International has partnered with the brand to release an app that teaches children animal sounds, rhymes, songs and contains surprises. The app is available for iPhone and iPad and is available now in the Apple App Store.
Features of the app include Eric Carle artwork in 14 scenes, 25 animal sounds and animations, narrated rhymes about farm animals, five sing-along songs, Read to Me and Read by Myself modes and games.
“Eric Carle’s books are beloved by parents, educators and children and a staple in homes, schools and libraries for more than 45 years,” says Debra Joester, chief executive officer, The Joester Loria Group. “We are delighted to expand the growing The World of Eric Carle collection of products with ‘Eric Carle’s On the Farm,’ an interactive app that is certain to enrich and entertain young children.”
“Given the way that today’s kids are engaging with iPhone and iPads, turning our popular Play-a-Sound books into interactive digital apps makes sense,” says Louis Weber, chief executive officer and president, PIL. “Research shows that young children learn best when they are fully engaged in a multi-sensory experience. ‘Eric Carle’s On the Farm’ app provides this experience–touch any animal that you see moving on screen and hear the sound it makes.”
