Industry Vet Launches Music Agency

Licensing industry veteran Michael Gottlieb has launched a new U.K.-based licensing consultancy, Sunny Side Up, to license iconic song lyrics.

The new company's initial clients include music publishers Music Sales Group and Imagem Music.

Gottlieb, who started his career at Warner Bros. Consumer Products, first entered the world of merchandising well-known lyrics in 2005 when head of licensing at Corporate Creative Licensing by featuring songs from The Beatles on merchandise ranging from mugs to board games.

“I am excited to begin this new chapter in my career with my own consultancy,” says Gottlieb. “It will build on my many years of experience and relationships in the music licensing and retail industries. Sunny Side Up will work closely with retailers and consumer goods companies to devise new products that can harness the powerful emotional pull of consumers' familiarity with popular song lyrics."
