Hornby to Design Fast & Furious Cars

Universal Pictures has teamed up with Hornby Hobbies for a line of Scalextric slot cars based on its Fast & Furious film franchise, in a deal negotiated by CPLG and Universal Partnerships & Licensing.

The line of slot cars will be based on vehicles from the franchise’s five films and will be available internationally in May 2013.

“The Fast & Furious films are known for their impressive range of cars and the characters’ racing skills,” says Paul Chandler, marketing manager, Hornby Hobbies. “We are looking forward to providing fans the opportunity to take their own piece of the action home to recreate the fast-paced races in their front room.”

A follow-up to the 2011 film Fast Five, Fast & Furious 6, is set be released in summer 2013.
