343 Industries and Simon & Schuster’s Gallery Books imprint have signed a multi-year co-publishing program based on Microsoft Studio’s Halo video game franchise.
All-new canonical tales based on the expanded Halo universe will be published across S&S’s Gallery Books, Pocket Books and Pocket Star imprints in both print and digital formats.
The first book in the series is scheduled for release this fall.
“We’ve had the luxury of working with amazing novelists and publishing partners in the past and we’re excited to continue that tradition and growth with the announcement of our new novel publishing partner, Gallery Books,” says Frank O’Connor, franchise development director, 343 Industries, which manages the Halo consumer products program. “We can’t wait to share the worlds and wonders we’ll build together.”
Since the first video game “Halo: Combat Evolved” debuted in 2001, the franchise has spawned a slew of additional games, novels, comic books, action figures, apparel and more.
