Zodiak Media’s children’s production company The Foundation has promoted Gwen Hughes to the role of managing director, following the departure of co-founder Vanessa Hill.
Hill is leaving the company to join her fellow The Foundation co-founder Ged Allen at his new company Jacabo, but will retain a connection with The Foundation on preschool series such “Zack and Quack,” according to Television Business International.
Hughes joined The Foundation in 1996 as a production assistant and most recently served as head of production. In her new role as MD she will report The Foundation’s chief executive officer and chairman, Nigel Pickard, beginning Sept. 1.
“I am delighted to promote Gwen to managing director of The Foundation,” says Pickard. “She has a wealth of production experience, an excellent relationship with all our broadcast clients and is hugely respected and liked by everyone she works with. I am sure The Foundation will continue to flourish under her stewardship.”
