A Planet Color by Todd Parr-branded line of coloring, activity books and more is in the works through new licensee Chronicle Books.
Besides coloring and activity books, the kids' empowerment brand, based on the works of author and illustrator Todd Parr, will see a line of flash cards and stationery. The activities line is expected to roll out in spring/fall 2010, according to the brand's marketing partner, SupperTime Entertainment.
"We have a great mix of formats planned, including some brand new ones," says Andrea Menotti, senior editor of Chronicle Books' children's division. "And since Todd is our neighbor here in the San Francisco Bay area, we're especially looking forward to collaborating with him directly on the look of the line."
Parr has had more than 30 children's books published through Little, Brown and Company, including his most recent title, "The I Love You Book."
Parr's merchandise program for Planet Color already includes apparel and backpacks. Parr adds another licensee, Jen's ideas, to its growing program. The company will manufacture T-shirts, fleece, hoodies, caps, knit dresses, knit skirts and leggings.
