HarperCollins Children’s Books has tapped two new partners to create costumes and nail polish for its best-selling Fancy Nancy book series. The deals were brokered by the publisher’s U.S. licensing agent, Established Brands.
Creative Education of Canada has signed on to create costumes, dress-up accessories and swimwear for the brand, while Piggy Paint is developing a line of nail polish.
Both product ranges will launch in spring 2014 to support the upcoming picture book release, Fancy Nancy and the Wedding of the Century, which will hit shelves in March 2014.
“These partners offer beautiful, high-quality products to retailers in support of upcoming book titles and brand milestones for Fancy Nancy and offer fans great product that is true to the DNA of Fancy Nancy,” says Bob Traub, president, Established Brands.
Among the items in Creative Educations’ dress up line, which will be produced under its Great Pretenders line, will be costumes, hats, tiaras, wands, slippers, purses, wigs, jewelry, hair accessories, UV-protected swimwear, color-a-cape and color-a-crown. The range will be available in the U.S. and Canada in spring 2014.
Piggy Paint will develop a natural, eco-friendly range of nail polish, nail polish kits and nail decals that will be available in the U.S. also in spring 2014.
“As we expand our product offerings and retail reach through licensing, Fancy Nancy is a perfect partner for Piggy Paint,” says Melanie Hurley, founder, Piggy Paint. “We are excited about the shared brand synergies, as we connect with girls that love to be fancy and moms that are looking for nail polish products that are safe and non-toxic.”
