Encyclopædia Britannica Goes Digital

After ending its print edition in 2012, Encyclopædia Britannica has created a new way to engage its youngest readers–a tablet.

In partnership with Tek Nēk Toys, the company has launched the first interactive Britannica Kids touchTab, an educational tablet that serves up knowledge through hands-on interactive play and quizzes.

The touchTab is available now at Target and will launch at other retailers soon including Walmart, Toys ‘R’ Us and Amazon.

The tablet comes with three content cartridges, “North American Mammals,” “Australian Mammals” and “African Mammals” with additional themed sets available separately including “Exploring Space,” “Incredible Earth,” “Amazing Ocean Life” and “Days of the Dinosaur.”

Each cartridge contains more than 200 facts and questions and allow children to explore three levels of content by answering questions to unlock new levels of difficulty.
