Artists typically use their personal expression and creativity to produce paintings, drawings, or collage images, but translating that art for licensed product often becomes quite a challenge. Categories of interest for attendees visiting the upcoming SURTEX show, which will be held May 18 through 20 at New York City's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, include decorative fabrics and textiles, digital scrapbooking, rugs, wallpaper, and apparel. Artists who are looking to license their work should consider creating art that is applicable for these categories.

Within the last several months, art has had quite an influence on the apparel and accessories categories and I only anticipate that this trend will gain momentum as we move forward. See for a preview of what's being shown at SURTEX.
