A&E Investigates Podcasts

Crime series “Cold Case Files” inspires a new podcast series to expand on the events and crimes featured in each episode.

NORTH AMERICA–A+E Networks has teamed up with PodcastOne to expand the A&E TV show “Cold Case Files” with a new podcast series, titled “Cold Case Files: The Podcast.”

Hosted by Brooke Gittings (“Convicted,” “Actual Innocence”), the new podcast will take a deeper look at the cases featured in the A&E series. Detectives will relive the events of the crimes and reveal new twists and revelations for a new perspective on the tragedies and the efforts to solve them.

“Cold Case Files: The Podcast” also serves as A&E’s first expansion into the category.

“On the back of the success of ‘Live PD,’ ‘First 48’ and the genre defining ‘Cold Case Files,’ we wanted to give our passionate, crime-obsessed audience a digital-first experience,” says Todd Pellegrino, senior vice president, video content, 45th & Dean, a division of A+E Networks. “This new podcast adapts these stories for the mobile listening audience, and together with A&E’s Real Crime blog, combine to offer fans a more meaningful engagement with our brand, while positioning A&E as a leader in the crime and investigation space. PodcastOne’s proven success makes them the perfect partner in this effort, and we are off to a great start averaging strong six-figure download numbers for each of the first three episodes.”

“Cold Case Files: The Podcast” is now available on AETV.com, PodcastOne.com, the “PodcastOne” app, Apple Podcasts and other podcast platforms. New episodes will be released every week to coincide with new episodes of “Cold Case Files.”
