Netflix has called in the big guns for its first-ever original kids’ series, with plans to debut “Turbo Fast” on Christmas Eve in partnership with DreamWorks Animation.
The all-new series, based on DreamWorks’ feature film Turbo, which grossed more than $280 million worldwide earlier this year, will be available exclusively on the Internet TV provider globally Dec. 24. Families will be able to stream the first five episodes this holiday season, with additional all new episodes premiering throughout 2014.
“We’ve long said that Netflix is revolutionizing the television industry, and now we are thrilled to officially be a part of it,” says Jeffrey Katzenberg, chief executive officer, DreamWorks Animation. “They have been fantastic partners whose vision has given our characters an amazing platform to be enjoyed by families around the world.”
“Turbo Fast” digs deeper into the crazy personalities of Turbo and his snail crew the Fast Action Stunt Team in a 2D ensemble comedy produced by DreamWorks Animation Television.
