BBC Worldwide has teamed up with London’s Heathrow airport to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who with a series of branded experiences.
“In its 50th anniversary year we want to include fans around the world in our Doctor Who celebrations, and this partnership with Heathrow is a fantastic way of capturing the attention of people from across the globe,” says Amanda Hill, chief brands officer, BBC Worldwide.
Beginning this week travelers passing through Heathrow will be treated to appearances from the famous Cybermen, TARDIS photo booths, genuine props and memorabilia from the show and augmented reality experiences.
On Tuesday, Terminal 5 featured special performances by the London Philharmonic Orchestra of music from the BBC series and Jenny Colgan, author of the recently released Doctor Who: Dark Horizons signed books for fans.

This weekend the cast of the show, including Matt Smith and Jenna Coleman, will travel themselves for an appearance Comic-Con International in San Diego, Calif. where the brand will have a booth at the show and BBC America will host an anniversary panel.
