Disney Draws Up Marvel App

Disney Consumer Products and Marvel Entertainment have launched a new app that encourages digital drawing on the iPad.

The app, which is meant to be used with an accompanying digital stylus, lets kids learn to draw, color and animate with Marvel Super Heroes and villains.

“Marvel Creativity Studio” was created by eKids exclusively for the iPad.

“‘Marvel Creativity Studio’ is an innovative way for fans of all ages to learn how to draw some of Marvel’s most popular Super Heroes while allowing them to use their imagination to feel like they’re part of the action,” says Josh Silverman, executive vice president, global franchise licensing and commercialization, DCP. “Leveraging the comic drawing history of the Marvel brand with the innovation that eKids brings to the table–or in this case, tablet–this product delivers a fun experience with endless play value.”

The app and stylus combo allows kids to illustrate colored pages, unlock special tools, build and animate action scenes and create custom stickers and add them to animated scenes.

In addition to the release of the “Marvel Creativity Studio,” DCP has also added new content to the “Disney Creativity Studio” app to let kids create drawings of more of their favorite Disney characters including Disney Junior’s Sofia the First, Doc McStuffins and Jake and the Never Land Pirates, as well as Monsters University and Disney Princess characters.

The Marvel stylus is available now at mass retailers across the U.S. and the app available for free in the Apple App Store.
