Fremantle expands the rebooted series in Australia with toys, apparel and more.
FremantleMedia Kids & Family has partnered with multiple new licensees in Australia and New Zealand for its rebooted animated series “Danger Mouse.”
In the toys category, FremantleMedia has added distribution partner Banter Toys & Collectibles in Australia for the launch of a new toy range developed by master toy licensee Jazwares later this year. A distribution partner will be announced for New Zealand at a later date.
In publishing, Penguin Random House has secured the rights for both territories, while Roadshow has secured the DVD rights for Australia and New Zealand with a new release, Mission Improbable, slated to launch in May.
Meanwhile, FremantleMedia is also targeting fans of the original series by partnering with Empire Apparel for adult outerwear and the Australia Post for a stamp pack, which is slated for release in April.
“Danger Mouse” made its debut in Australia on ABC3 in February and in New Zealand on TV Four in January, marking the first time that TV Four has included children’s programming during peak airtime.
“We are absolutely thrilled with the reception our uniquely British hero has received from Australian and New Zealand audiences,” says Liz Burnett, director, consumer products, FremantleMedia Australia. “We’re confident that the blend of action, humor and gadgetry is going to translate perfectly to the licensing market and allow ‘Danger Mouse’ to really stand out from other boys’ properties.”
