DHX Media has appointed CPLG as the U.K. agent for its preschool property In the Night Garden, and signed a raft of licensing deals in the U.K. and Australia.
“‘In the Night Garden’ continues to prove its longevity as a preschool success, with generations of young families making Igglepiggle and Upsy Daisy an even bigger part of their day-to-day routines with themed merchandise,” says Stephen Gould, commercial director, DHX Media. “This property has a growing fan base both in the U.K. and abroad, and DHX Media, together with CPLG, is committed to partnering with the best names in licensing and merchandising to extend the presence and success of the brand.”
In the show’s home territory of the U.K., Inspiration Works is set to produce e-books, while VMC holds the rights for dress up items and winter accessories. Ravensburger has picked up rights for boxed and floor puzzles, with Worlds Apart releasing In the Night Garden ready beds, play tents and inflatable seating. Dreamtex is creating a range of themed bedding, towels and facecloths, with Trademark Collections set to design bags and backpacks featuring the Night Garden residents. Finally, Century Books is planning an In the Night Garden digital annual with I-tech.
DHX Media has also renewed Penguin Childrens’ Books publishing license in both the U.K. and Australia.
Other deals in Australia the appointment of Jasnor Toys master toy partner, and a DVD deal with ABC Roadshow Entertainment.
