Concept One offerings already include headwear, cold weather accessories, bags and small leather goods.
“The decision was driven by multiple factors that we believe will make this acquisition extremely lucrative for us and for our licensing partners,” says Sam Hafif, chief executive officer, Concept One. “The company is very young and has established a niche in the luggage business for team sports, achieving distribution at major retailers including Costco, Dillard's, Steinmart, Kohls and several luggage specialty stores.”
Denco currently has license agreements with Major League Baseball, the Collegiate Licensing Company, the National Basketball Association and the National Hockey League. Concept One is a licensee of the National Football League.
Mario Simonson, Denco’s current chief executive officer, will stay on to run merchandising and sales at Concept One.
