In a move to build its digital content platforms, U.S. telecommunications firm Verizon has acquired online media company AOL for approximately $4.4 billion.
Verizon has teamed with DreamWorks and its multi-channel YouTube network AwesomenessTV to launch several new channels on its Internet-based content service.
Verizon will add more than 200 hours of original content produced by DreamWorks' YouTube network AwesomenessTV to its U.S. online content service every year.
