Bulldog Licensing has added two new U.K. licensees for PopCap Games’ and Electronic Arts’ app brand Plants vs. Zombies.
Cooneen is planning a line of nightwear and underwear, and specialist retailer Forbidden Planet is featuring a range of PvZ products alongside window displays, in-store signage, social media outreach and contests.
“Plants vs. Zombies” has been downloaded more than 140 million times worldwide and the brand has 10 million-plus Facebook fans. “Plants vs. Zombies 2,” which launched last month, has already been downloaded nearly 25 million times, making it the most successful mobile game launch in EA’s history.
“We are delighted to have brought these two great partners on board for Plants vs. Zombies,” says Rob Corney, managing director, Bulldog. “With the sequel hammering home the dominance of this entertainment brand across digital channels, there has never been a better time to be involved with the Plants vs. Zombies world.”
Cooneen and Forbidden Planet join an expanding list of PvZ U.K. partners that also includes Character Options, which will distribute Jazwares’ range of plush and toys, as well as Penguin (publishing), Titan (Plants vs. Zombies magazine), Magic Box (sticker books), Character World (homewares), A4T (digital peripherals), Bioworld (apparel and accessories) and GB Eye (posters).
Product will launch in the U.K. this fall and will roll out more widely across Europe throughout 2014.
